Lights from buildings along the South Haven shoreline form the backdrop for the South Haven South Pier Light. The lighthouse beacon as well as the lights along the catwalk, reflect in the calm water in the foreground on a calm late winter evening.
About Michael Collins

Hello, and welcome to my site! I first became passionate about photography in the late 1990s, when I picked up my first SLR film camera. This was a starter kit from Vivitar. I basically used it to take nature photos, mostly of wildflowers. A couple years later, I upgraded to a Nikon film SLR, an N90S. To try it out, I went to my first lighthouse in Saint Joseph, Michigan. The pier was iced over, but I edged my way all the way to the end. I was just wearing sneakers, which was insane. Today, I wear boots and crampons when venturing out on the ice. Regardless, I was instantly hooked and kept photographing lighthouses up the west coast of Michigan.
